Jira Duplicate Notifications

In the last week or so JIRA has been sending multiple emails for a single change, but these emails are spaced over time. Up to nine emails for a single change with the mails being sent out about 3 minutes apart from each other.

I've looked into the notification scheme and nothing it out of the ordinary. No groups in the scheme, no strange alias problems. Our email servers are also looking to be working correctly. We have re-indexed JIRA as well as an attempt to fix the issue but this hasn't done anything.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

We had the same some time ago. If I remember it correclly the mails have been sent with out some Ids (message ids if I recall it correct). That is why the mailserver kept sending the mails a couple of times. But I don't know what the mail server admins did to stop it.
