Jira (Cloud) user want to create new Jira Issue (bug) and to copy logs to folder instead of attachments

Anatoly Gutnick December 19, 2016

Hellow

We are looking for the way to create new JIRA issue and to COPY files (logs, etc) to File Server

/root/projectname/JIRA/JiraIsueID/XYZ created.

  • To have folder created automatically
  • You can browse from JIRA issue page to the Logs folder

There are a lot of options in configuration attachments for JIRA Issues

https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver071/configuring-file-attachments-802593126.html

But there is nothing about working with File System instead of Attachments
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Anatoly

JIRA does not have in-build integration with file servers. Instead you can link the related files by adding web links: https://confluence.atlassian.com/jiracoreserver072/linking-issues-829092787.html#Linkingissues-CreatingalinktoanywebpageURL

Thank you for answer, Volodymyr

It was such options in Bugzila and seems in none Cloud version of Jira.

The option you suggested still requires to put URL http:\\ and not file path file://fs1/Files/bugs/XYZ

So, additional question:

We will copy manually log file to File Server - no need integration of JIRA with File Server.

Just as reminder to have field in JIRA Issue like:

Log files located under location folder: file://fs1/Files/bugs/XYZ

(Only those who have permissions to access this folder will access)
