In my project apart from screen shots and images, there is need to have small pdf or word documentation like instructions set. Can i configure to attach pdf or doc file at issue level? And how?

You need to configure Create Attachments to the users who need to attach files in the permission scheme of  your project. The document https://confluence.atlassian.com/jira064/configuring-file-attachments-720411975.html will help you.

Thanks Jannu
However specifically despite passing on this entitlement to attach "files" we faced issue attaching .docx\doc files while with other .gif/jpeg or png files got attached smoothly.Any advice on same please

What error or problem you have faced? Is it a limit of file size? or any other problem?

Hello, Chetan.

You can try our add-on Smart Attachments with workflow validators (https://docs.stiltsoft.com/display/CATAT/Managing+Workflow+Validators) that will check presence of specific file formats in your categories.

If you have any questions, please drop an email to vrutkevich@stiltsoft.com

Thanks.

Best Regards,
