JIRA Issue Type Schemes

Joe Dwyer December 11, 2016

Every time we create new project a new Issue type scheme for the project is created even though I am using the Project Management Workflow.  Therefore when we look at the Admin - Issues - Issue Types and look at Tasks you will notice that there is an Issue Type Scheme for each project.  I though we would have just one issue type scheme (project management).

Atlassian are moving towards a "let the project owners admin their projects" model.  In order to do that, they are encouraging a "one scheme per project" for all the schemes, so that changes for one project won't break other projects.

You can skip it and share schemes - if you use the "use shared config" at the bottom of the project type selection box.  But that does mean you'll need to set up your own boards and portals for the new project.
