Issues with no Sprint value are not appearing on the Backlog?

Vineet Kumar May 25, 2016

Hi All, Ideally the issues which do not have any value on the "Sprint" field should come under "Backlog" on the Sprint Board, Recently i migrated some issues to a different JIRA project and then moved them back to the same project. Now, the backlog column is empty on my sprint board. Is there something i am missing?

You're saying a backlog "column", but I'll assume you're talking of the Backlog tab and not a column in the Active Sprints tab.

There could be 2 reasons your issues do not show in your board:

  1. They don't match the board's filter.
  2. They're part of a completed sprint.

The quickest way to find out is to run a JQL query using the board's filter. If your issues aren't there, it's #1. If they're present, it's likely #2.

Opening the detailed view of one of these issues will confirm #2: you'll see a sprint in the Sprint field. You'll also have the sprint report in the board's Report tab.
