We are looking to use JIRA for other purposes besides the ticketing flow that it is designed for. Since JIRA offers a wide range of BI tools and features, I'm trying to see if JIRA is a good fit to document information pertaining to to our clients. We are essentially creating a database on our clients, so instead of field descriptions like "Issue Type", I'd like to see if it's possible to change it to say something like "Business Type". Maybe there is a plugin available for that?
IssueType is a built-in field thus I won't recommend changing it instead why not have a issueType called "Business" or "Business Type" , currently in JIRA you can't rename system fields like issueTypes - https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRA-21293
