I'm trying to add a status correction button in to my project like the one shown above, for project administrators/project managers however I'm not having any luck. I have tried to add a status condition "users in group project administrators can execute this transition" to each transition in the workflow as suggested, however with no luck, in fact it only removes the ability for other users (testers) to transition in accordance to the workflow.
Can anyone advise how I can get this button to show, so project managers/administrators can change status' at will
(P.s still very new to JIRA, apologies if it's an obvious question)
I think it's this: "I have tried to add a status condition "users in group project administrators can execute this transition" to each transition"
You only need that condition on the status correction TRANSITION. It doesn't go on status, and it doesn't go on other transitions.
I think you were on the right track but instead of just adding the administrators in users and roles, you also have to add a second condition that is divided by a "OR", meaning either you are in the admin group OR in the manager group.
you have to add a transition "Status Correction" in your Workflow, using the step you want to have this button (as in your screenshot you have to add it in the step that is linked to the "Deployment Test" Status)
Only for this transition you have to use your condition that allows only project admins to use it. All the other transitions should not have this condition, so the other users can trigger it.
