I've created a situation where my ID can not add Due Date to new issues, and can only edit pre-existing due dates in the advanced screens, not basic list view. Suggestions please? Thanks in advance!

Is it only happening to your account? Is the "Due Date" field present in the "Create Screen"? Can you check if you have "configured"  your create screen to hide certain fields or all?
