I'm looking for a way to get a report or chart that will show me the elapsed time between two statuses.

I'm trying to answer the question.  What is the wait time for an item that has been coded and ready to test to when it is moved to testing, the elapsed time between those two statuses.  I'm mostly looking for average elapsed times over different periods of time for groups of tickets.

There's a plugin that adds a Transitions tab at the bottom of the issue details (among other things)

If you want averages, there's the JIRA Charting Plugin that has a dashboard gadget for that.
