I installed Jira and cannot login

SM April 20, 2016

I installed JIRA trial version and connected to it using my gmail id. however after reboot, I cannot login.

I don't see any logs updated under

C:\Program Files\Atlassian\JIRA\logs

C:\Program Files\Atlassian\Application Data\JIRA\log

Any ideas where I can start looking to troubleshoot and fix the login?

Did you install it as a service? If not have you started JIRA after the reboot? The start_jira.bat script is under the bin directory of your JIRA home directory.

Yes, it is installed as a service and I rebooted my computer too.

I opened the atlassian-jira-security and found that it is rejecting my gmail id. now I am confused as I seemed to be locked out of my installation. how do I fix it?

I looked at the logs and found that I did not use my gmail id for my admin access. all is good now.
