[SOLVED] How to send an email if a specific checkbox is selected in an issue?

Oleg Calcines June 13, 2017

I have created a custom field which is of type CheckBox and has three options (e.g. A, B, C) . I want to send an email to a group if and only if option B is selected.

I have tried several Post Functions but none works as I intend.

Jira Version: 6.3.14

Natively JIRA can't create a notification for a specific value of a custom field.  It can send notifications on an issue edit, but it isn't able to look at specific field values alone to make this notification event happen.  But there are ways that you might be able to do this with plugins like scriptrunner and use a custom script.

There are some related posts on this that might help with this kind of customization:

You could also try the plugin Email This Issue plugin.
I believe this issue does have the ability to send a notification on a custom field value.

Thank you very much, @Andy Heinzer. I ended using Script Runner.
