I have a custom field that my team no longer wishes to use. The field needs to remain visible for historical audit purposes but users should not be able to update or edit on any new issues.
What is a recommended approach to achieve this?
Remove them from all Edit Screens then remove them from any Transition screens that allows update of the value. You can easily check what screens a certain field is associated in the "Administration > Issues > Custom Fields" section.
I made sure a field that is no longer being used is not associated with an issue type and it's screens. However, the field is no longer visible when viewing the issue. I want any existing values to remain viewable.
