How to check the health of the JIRA and confluence applications to make sure everything is working fine

We would like to know some of the regular checkup tips to maintain the application up and fine without any hassles.

We are facing the some issues in our JIRA and Confluence application where the applications are going offline/ unavailable for some regular interval, may be for 3 to 5 min.

we would like to find the root cause of these issues.

So please let us know some tips to check the health of the applications in regular basis.

Another option that you could use in conjunction with @Ansar Rezaei's suggestion is the JavaMelody plugin.  I've had great luck with it in the past.

Hi Vinod

I think the best way for JIRA is using Atlassian Support Tools that you can find it in System tab or follow this link:  <yourserver>/plugins/servlet/stp/view/

This internal plugin have a Hercules log scanner that is able to scan your log file for known problems and suggest how-to articles. You also able to schedule this operation to scan  your log in non-working hours to ensure about it.

JIRA have a good logging module that you get good knowledge about it here. By scanning your logs manually and googling for that errors you can find some other resolutions and workarounds for your problems. You can find logs file in your JIRA home directory.

This is also exists for confluence. If you have any other problem let us know.
