How can I disable clone sub-task prefix?

James Valero February 27, 2017

This question is in reference to Atlassian Documentation: Cloning an Issue

When cloning an issue with sub-tasks, each subtask is then prefixed with "CLONE." How do I prevent this from happening? I'm cloning a previous deployment task and have to remove "CLONE" from each subtask.

On server, you can go to admin -> advanced settings and change the property that makes the summary be prefixed with a word.  I'm not sure you can do it on Cloud.

You can.

On JIRA Cloud:

  • go to JIRA Administration > System.
  • you should land on the 'Settings' page.
  • on the 'Settings' page, click the Advanced Settings button.
  • the top entry should be jira.clone.prefix with value = "CLONE - ".
  • click the value field next to jira.clone.prefix (i.e. the bit that says "CLONE - ") to edit and update.

I am looking for a similar thing. Can the prefix be removed at a project level?
