Fairly new to JIRA admin here, so any help would be appreciated!
I'm looking for a way to add the Versions tab to an active sprint board (swimlanes) so that while viewing the swimlanes a user can filter based on version number, so they can see what work is involved with specific versions.
This is easily done in the backlog view, by opening the Version tab, and selecting the version, this filters by that specific version, but there doesn't seem to be an obvious way to do this for the swimlane boards.
Hi there is no perfect way of doing this to my knowledge. I might have missed some plugin but what you could try is doing a custom swimlane with JQL and see if that suits your needs. You might get some ideas from https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSW-5720
Good luck!
Thanks for the feedback, we actually found a temporary solution by filtering the swimlanes (under the board settings) by query and using the fixVersion to just pull the version number. Downside is it's manual and extends the boards somewhat, I'm going to continue investigating and see what I come up with.

I was also looking for a way to easily split the board into swimlanes by fix version. While doing it manually in the board settings technically works, it's not good experience, because you need a separate filter for every fix version, and anytime you create a new version, or release a version, you need to remember to go delete the filter.
Fix version is a 1st class citizen in JIRA, I was really hoping there'd be a native/intuitive way to view boards by version.
