Estimate field not on bugs

I want teams to move to story point estimation. I have created a custom field configuration for t shirt sizes currently. Once I get rid of that, I plan to move to story points under Board cog< Configure>Estimation<Story Points. I noticed you cant put estimates on bug tickets. Is there a way to add the ability? I would prefer staying away from another custom drop down.

Atlassian default story points to a couple of issue types.  But you can change it quite easily - go to custom fields, find "story points" and configure it, extending the "context" from the existing issue types to all the story/bug/issue/feature level ones (avoid it on sub-task types - JIRA doesn't really support estimating at that level)
