Database query using scriptrunner plugin

lykaibernardo April 11, 2016

Can get the following using scriptrunner plugin?

  • teams would need a summarized report for daily closed tickets and daily assigned tickets. I know we can do that via filters but filters don't show the exact number of tickets per agent and this is what we need.
  • these reports should be automatically generate, if we can query from the database through script runner

If you could provide some reference on how to create a report using scriptrunner plugin, it would be a great help.

Hi Lyka,

Whilst you can connect to a JIRA or external Database using ScriptRunner we don't recommend this approach.

Perhaps a better approach would be to create a Scripted Field that provides the data of number of tickets (per agent) and then use the Scripted Field in the report?

Jamie pointed out to me that using a Scripted Field is not ideal for aggregating data either since the issue navigator and report relies on JIRA indexes being up to date.

Regardless, your solution ought to involve choosing the most appropriate features of ScriptRunner (to automate), reporting and gadgets. There are a number of great add-ons in the Atlassian Marketplace to help with the reporting of the aggregated data (like EazyBI & Arsenale Dataplane for example that are verified by Atlassian).

regards,
