Creating issues and comments from email issue

Scott Skversky September 1, 2016

Based on this documentation - https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver071/creating-issues-and-comments-from-email-802592933.html

Our infrastructure does not have a POP3/imap configured, plus we have roughly 30 users utilizing JIRA out of our firm.  We are using exchange 2010.  Any advice or workaround?

Not offhand. This is a fairly normal and simple request – Many different applications have different requirements for features, such as email ingesting. In this case, JIRA supports IMAP/POP mail protocol only.

I'd be surprised if your internal IT didn't allow for this.

This isn't setup in our environment.  Any recommendations on doing so?

If you have Exchange you have the ability to use IMAP/POP. Is this not an option for you for some reason? Perhaps you can create your own IMAP mail server and then forward emails to that connected email box?
