Concluence and JIRA not running together in localhost?

HI,

I am a new user and I recently installed JIRA and Confluence on my local server. I'm hosting them for a closed network and machines are not allowed to connect to Internet.Everything works fine except 2 things:

1. JIRA and Confluence cannot be logged in together.If I login into JIRA, Confluence gets logged out and vice-versa.
2. I cannot create new users for JIRA or Confluence.

Everything else looks good. I've used a separate MySQL DB for setup. 

Can anyone help me with the two issues? I didn't see any online documentation on this.

Do you have the applications on separate context paths? If the URL is the same, the cookies will clash.

As for creating new users, you should look at the log for additional errors. Does the screen print an error at all when you try to create a user?
