Component field - can only one option be allowed?

Hi,

When choosing a component option, is there a way to limit to just one versus allowing a user to choose multiple?

There is a hack to core code that changes the front-end from many select to one, but it's not supported, and needs a little code and a restart.

Most people use a single-select custom field instead, and re-use components to do something else (or hide it)
