Change Jira Login Text

I work on JIRA 6.2.2 instance and would like to be able to either change or add text on the login component. I can't seem to find the file where this change needs to take place . I have gone into /atlassian-jira/WEB-INF/atlassian-bundled-plugins/ as mentioned in article https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRAKB/How+to+customise+the+login+gadget  but can't find login.xml and the login-gadget.soy. Probably because this article was for confluence but i thought i give it a try.  Please help.

You need to extract(unzip the jar) jira-gadgets-plugin-6.2.2.jar found in that folder. The files will be in there...

Do this on a backup copy.
