Can you send an email to an external email address or a selected JIRA user on change of status for a selected issue type?

We have a number of projects and each has an issue type of quote.  When an issue of this type is created we would like an email/notification to go to a selected user, however, there is no need to have that user added as a watcher on the issue and to assign the issue to them would only add steps in the process and slow things down.

Hi Eric,

Perhaps you can use a notification scheme?

Take a look at this https://confluence.atlassian.com/jira/creating-a-notification-scheme-185729542.html

You can select the event that you want to trigger the notification and the users that will receive it. You can also associate the notification with a project.

Regards,

K.

Thanks for the idea.

Looked at using that, but cannot see how to get it to only work for selected issue types.  Looks like it do it for all issues types.

Is that how you understand it to work?
