Can you import projects while users are working with the system

Is there impact on logged in user during the import op projects with the standard JIRA project importer?

It might run a little slower, and if the users are creating issues, they may add them in the middle of your import block, or see unexpected jumps in numbers.  (E.g. they create abc-123, you start an import of 100 issues, they expect their next issue to be created as abc-124 or abc-125 maybe, but it jumps to abc-224 )
