Can we use Jira as a Test Management tool

Can we add requirements, write test cases with steps to execute using JIRA or do we need a separate test management tool to work? Please confirm. Thanks. sudha

JIRA is not really a Test Management tool, but you can create a dedicated project for test with custom configuration. Atlassian documentation : https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirakb/using-jira-software-for-test-case-management-136872198.html

They are also some plugin for testing and QA :

JIRA s a great tool for Test Management, as it is for Requirement and Defect management.

Please give a look at this free e-book that details precisely how JIRA can be used as a Test Management tool for both manual and automated tests.

Xray for JIRA is such an add-on that takes advantage of JIRA and empowers it with test management features, allowing you to create, organize, pland and execute all your different test types.
