Can there be a view only tier for Issue Security settings?

Brian Bachman February 22, 2017

I'd like to use the Issue Security to set 3 different levels of access to a JIRA issue.

  1. full edit - based on project permissions & roles
  2. read only - based on project roles.  User has full edit, but based on a security setting certain roles can view only
  3. completely restricted

This is similar to how Confluence restricts pages, but I've not yet found any guidance on #2.  Please help!

Thank you

Brian

Hi Brian,

No, that's not what issue level security does. It lets you decide at issue level which issues can be viewed or not, but it does not allow you to add more granular levels.

Was afraid this was the answer.  Thank you

There's nothing to stop you defining read-only access to the project and then a security level that is identical to it (or a sub-set of those who can read only)
