Can't find boards in the sidebar

Martin Scherf April 26, 2018

Hallo,

i'm working with Jira Core 7.9.0 and there is no possibility to select board in the sidebar.  There i can see only summary, issues an reports.

I often read, there are no boards in Jira Core, but this should be an old statement.

What's wrong? Thank you for answers!

Hi Martin Scherf,

Agile boards are part of JIRA Software and hence they are not available in JIRA Core.

JIRA Core release notes link - https://confluence.atlassian.com/jiracore/jira-core-7-9-x-release-notes-947191532.html

Hope this helps.

After further research i noticed, that boards are only available in the cloud version, not in server!!!

Thank you for your answer. Helpful, but unfortunately not satisfying.

There's no info about that (cloud) on:

Please note that Cloud being paid service, would have the ability to create projects belonging any of the three variants (Core, Software and Service Desk) without necessarily demarcating the underlying JIRA variant.

But on the server instances, Atlassian limits the JIRA variant based on the applied license and installed binaries.

For example, if JIRA software is installed , we need to apply JIRA Software license. Besides, if you need JIRA Service Desk then you may need to go to from {SERVER_ADDRESS}/plugins/servlet/applications/versions-licenses and install the Service Desk and also apply the Service Desk license.

This may be unrelated to your question but wanted to further clarify JIRA behaviour.

Good Luck.
