Adding Software (temporarily) to Existing Core

I am currently running JIRA Core and need to add JIRA Software (to use Agile), for a certain project to use for 2 years, then we will go back to just running Core. I know we need to purchase additional licenses but need to know how to add it to the existing Core application. Would we just input the new licence number and JIRA will automatically turn on the Software application? I know Core is a subset to Software.

You actually 'add' JIRA Software to your JIRA Core application and - indeed - need to license it. Activating it can be done through Administration - Manage applications.
