Accidentally Deleted Custom Field Context

Chander April 25, 2017

Hi All,

I am having a multi select ist field with two contexts, global and the other specifc to a project.

I have accidentally deleted the context for the project and that does not give search results for the project having that custom field.

Also tried Adding a new context with values.

Is there a way i can get back values on to the project?

Hi All,

Tested and found this band aid. Although there might me loss of a day's data which you might get it from database tables

1. Take a Backup of most recent file.

2. Spin up a local instance and Restore the backup on to it

3. Export csv with Issue Key, Summary, Customfield(Customfieldname)

4. Import them on to production.

Thanks

Chander

Export/ importing CSV might result in this issue - https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-questions/Update-some-fields-in-existing-JIRA-issues-with-CSV-import/qaq-p/408283

Thus, one has to be careful or better use a REST client.
