Is any plugin to report project schedule vs development status and dependencies in report view?

ciao @hongcdl

For several months I've been getting interested in the topic of business intelligence and reporting on Jira. I don't remember that there is a plugin that does exactly what you are asking for, but maybe I didn't understand well how you want to build this report. It could be "easy" to build with eazyBI for example. But as tools available on Jira to see the relationships between issues there are some that come to my mind now: one is obviously my favorite BigPicture (in the Board section), or there are these that in various ways make "links" between issues:

  1. https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1223203/linked-issues?hosting=server&tab=overview
  2. https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1218468/issue-groups-for-jira?hosting=datacenter&tab=overview
  3. https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1219383/visual-links-view-manage-hierarchy?hosting=server&tab=overview

this is for Confluence, my be interesting (?) https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1217828/vivid-trace-for-confluence?hosting=server&tab=overview

^__^

finally, look at https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1218705/release-management-roadmap-jira?hosting=datacenter&tab=overview

Hello @hongcdl

BigPicture is a tool that may meet your expectations. I will show you two modules where you can visualize dependencies between tasks and track their development progress.

The Gantt module is very functional in supporting the monitoring and control of project progress.

You can use it to prepare your project schedule, visualize dependencies, track the execution, and generate reports by aggregating your task data. To measure the progress not only on a single task level but also on a project or its phases level, the plugin gives you the possibility to aggregate data of statuses, progress, and Time tracking. Please see my image as a reference.

The same set of tasks can be presented on the Board module, which is a tool whose main purpose is to visualize and highlight new feature delivery dates as well as cross-team dependencies. Moreover, you can enable Totals, which will help you in planning and monitoring the execution.

You have various indicators and aggregations at your disposal. Once you enable them, progress bars will appear in each of your Timeboxes. See my image below.

Thanks for the feedback, we have volume licenses for Jira (about 500) and Bitbucket (about 200), if I want use above recomended plugins for our current project for 1) evaluation 2) added into current user group all, 3) only enable these plug-ins for limited number of Jira users.  What should I do?

Hello @hongcdl

BigPicture and BigGantt - You can try both plugins out during a trial period of 30 days and afterward decide whether and which plugin is suitable for you. Here you will find both products comparison.

Due to Atlassian technical prerequisites, any Jira plugin must match the Jira instance's user tier to which it is applied. Even if fewer users want to use the app than your Jira license, the two licenses should match exactly.

I understand that the need for what you are asking may come from the need for not giving access to Portfolio, Resource, etc.  That's why BigPicture has an advanced permissions system that not only allows for restricting access to some parts of the system, but it can also be configured so that some value is provided for every user. For example, allowing the view of some parts of Gantt charts or boards for coordination, not to mention the Teams and Resources. Here you will find pricing.

Please let me know if you have further questions regarding plugins.

Best,
