So, I was reviewing my Jira server's home directory and I noted that the export directory was part of Jira's backup system, which began my musing's on efficiency and operational validity for keeping this operational, or if it would be more applicable to stop this.
As we have our server backed up with an external rapid recovery mechanism, I am curious;
What data is recoverable via the xml backup, or what is missing?,
How to verify this (and where this option is configured within the Jira server's admin web gui?)
How long the recovery mechanism would take to execute,
Is the recovery mechanism automatable, and if so how,
How long would it take to implement,
And finally, what would be missing in the case of such a recovery?
What are 'attachments' in this case?
I can understand them in terms of Confluence, and even Jira, but I am a bit less familiar with using Bamboo in this way, and have never attempted to attach files within Bamboo, largely because I expected this to be the domain of Bitbucket.
