Users not able to change mail iD. No access to Manage Access section

HI,

For some users in JIRA, when they goto Profile and click on Manage Access, they are not able to do so and it is showing, No Access, contact admin.

The users need to change the mail IDs to their new ones. But they are not able to do so.

What is stopping them from accessing "Manage Access" under "Profile" and why they are not able to change their mail IDs on their own?

Hello Riyaz,

Can you confirm if you are using JIRA Server or Cloud?

The error they are facing usually happens for two reasons:

1 - Your JIRA Admin has claimed the e-mail domain of the users and create an organization on JIRA, so all the users became managed accounts that can only be edited by Organization admins, as mentioned in the documentation below:

Administer Managed Accounts

2 - when the External User management Option is turned on in the JIRA instance, it prevents the user to manage their account on JIRA.

To check if it is turned on:

  1. Choose the Jira icon ( or ) > Jira settings > System
  2. Click General Configuration > Edit Settings
