Upgrading a OLD Jira installation

Christopher Walker November 8, 2021

Last year I walked into a new job with a very outdated Jira install (6.4.11).  My infrastructure team has since told me that Altlassian does not support rollups on major versions, and as such, the would need to install every release since 6.4.11.  Is this true.  It seems too bad to be true.

Can we install v8.0 over 6.4.11 and be in the land of rainbows and lollipops, or is there more to this?

Hi @Christopher Walker

I'm going to direct you to a previously asked Community question that asks the same thing.  Basically, you will have to jump to 7.0 before you go to the current version (8.20).
