Suming up the hours in hierarchy

Daniel Bartkovic March 8, 2019

Hello,

It's my first time setting up the project from ground up, while worked as scrum master before with project already set up.

What I want to create is a hierarchy in which I can simply track and count the hours.

The hierarchy that I have in mind is simple:

  • Epic
    • Story
      • Task
        • Sub-task

Counting the hours of sub-tasks in tasks of course work automaticly. What I want is to for example take a look at story and see the sum of estimated, remaining and tracked hours of all the tasks linked to it the same way as it works for task and sub-tasks.

For now I set this hierarchy up so that:

  • stories have epic links to epic
  • tasks have relates to links to stories
  • sub-tasks are sub-tasks of tasks (obviously)

Is there a way to set something like this up in JIRA?

Hello,

Have a look at such plugins as Structure, Portfolio or Big Picture
