ProForma Lite not letting me link form to NON-Custom Date Field eg. Due Date

A colleague let me know that whilst "Using ProForma Lite add-on app on Jira Server. Some date fields (e.g. Due Date) can't be linked to from the form, and I'm not sure why. I can link a Custom Field of date type but not Due Date which is a default field." 

Does anyone know a solution to linking to non-custom date field eg. Due Date from ProForma field? 

Is it likely we won't face same issue when migrating to CLOUD?
