Thanks Tony,

How can you transfer documents and workflows to Jira?

Hi @Kevin Jut

To transfer/migrate documents over to Jira, first you have to find out if Micro Focus can export data with its related documents specified. For example, each record can have one or more related documents attached For the data export, you will need to specify the name of the files within the record. Next, you need to work with the System Admin folks to find out where the actual files are stored and the zip it up and stage it over to the Jira server under some temp directory. Add the directory path to the file name in your exported file. During the importing process, Jira will pick up the files and then establish the relationship with the imported record.

For the workflows, you can create and sync the statuses in Jira with Micro Focus and then migrate the status to Jira. You have to re-create the workflows and transitions in Jira. I don't know if there are any plug-ins in the marketplace supports this feature.

Hi Kevin,

The most common way to do this is to find out if Micro Focus ALM can export data in CSV format. If yes, then you can pick and choose which fields need to be converted to Jira Cloud and export them in CSV (comma delimited) format. Create a new project in Jira Cloud and make sure that all the fields from Micro Focus (that are not exist in Jira) are created in Jira and map to the screen and project. Finally, go to the Settings and select option External System Import and select CSV. Follow the import wizard to import the data into the new project.
