Cloud JIRA performance has degraded

Dennis Lindenberg January 10, 2019

Starting in Q3 of last year, my company's JIRA response time has degraded. I think, but am not sure, that this coincided with the new UI rollout. Generally, screen rendering time, previously felt instantaneous but is now on the order of seconds (3-10).

We have made no other changes, and my very fast home network has the same results. Our system hosts about 100 users with about 10K issues spread over 20 projects and 10 scrum and kanban boards.

So, my first question is whether anyone else is seeing this? Second, as a cloud service, is there anything I can do to our usage (I am the admin) to improve response. We certainly can find stale things to clean up (e.g., old projects, unused projects), but it would be good to get some validation and then know where to start.

Thanks

Dennis,

You instance is not very large.  It is always a good idea to have archival and clean-up tasks in place to ensure that your instance runs smoothly.  The only issue we have seen is some oddity with the Firefox browser. Here is a nice free training that has some good information about scaling JIRA - https://training.atlassian.com/elearning/scaling-jira  it will help you understand how issues, users, custom fields, workflows, etc. impact your instances performance.  If you really feel that your service has degraded you can always submit a ticket to Atlassian and they can check you instance and make sure that there is not anything in the hosting that could be causing the problem.  https://support.atlassian.com/contact/#/
