What is the latest roadmap for Jira Core (Jira for Business Units, non-ALM)

Kindly update this discussion with the latest news about Jira core roadmap and express your success stories or experience in customizing Jira for Business Departments and Office Work. 

Jira is an extremely good alternative to the traditional BPM methods to digitize office work and departments work. 

What are your thoughts on this? Why is Atlassian still shying from non-ALM scope? Jira Core was a good move, but not good enough yet.
