BigPicture - How to keep the tree clean

Ruediger Beck February 9, 2020

I have the problem to see a clean issue tree in "Scope"-view of BigPicture plugin.

I want to have a combined view of 8 teams, but when the teams do not do a proper linking of their issues  to Epics and Initiatives all these issues are shown on the 1st top level of the tree that BigPicture is creating.

Is there any way to remove those issues from the tree or map them to an 'unsorted' sub-tree?

Or can I write a JQL filter to remove those entries upfront?

Hi,

You could start with something similar to: "Epic Link" != empty OR issuetype = Epic

With this JQL query you will get:

  • tasks with epic links only
  • epics itself

Now it depends on what other issues that you have in your program and they don't have epic links, you would like to keep. Add their criteria to the above JQL and apply the filter.

You can describe what other issues you have in the scope of your program and I will try to help you with the JQL.

Cheers,

Patryk
