Jira Custom Field Text like expandable Description field

How do we create a JIRA custome fields over 255 characters like the expandable Description field?

We need to store test proceedures prereq,rules,results and it needs more than 1 line.

We are using attachments now with refer information.

Is it possible to get a field similar to the expandable Description field or popup to bigger than 255 char>?

There are two types of text field in Jira - short text (<256) and free text, where you can type as much as you want.

Don't really know what you mean by "expandable".

I do not see the option for free text field when you select ADD CUSTOM FIELD.

Which option is it?

The descrtiption filed has an arrow on lower right bottome side to pull to expand
