How do you create a default template for a test session?

How do you create a template for a test session? In the user guide section for templates: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/BONFIRE/Templates+and+Variables, I found this: "A template can also be assigned as the default template for a shared test session, allowing all participants of the test session to create consistent issues. For more information on creating test sessions, please read Working with Sessions#CreatingSessions". However, when I try to create a template, it is only for the issue types of Bug, New Feature, etc; test session does not appear in the drop down list.

In this section of the Bonfire user guide, https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/BONFIRE/Working+with+Sessions#WorkingwithSessions-CreatingSessions, it also shows being able to create a test session using a template. Please let me know how I can create a template for a test session.

thanks.

I m also confused with this.

There is the option to use a default template when creating and editing a Test Session. So, one can assume that there is place where you can save your preset to be reused in every Test Session after.

My only objective here is to add the following set of strings on every Test Session (at Additional Information field):

Step 01
- Action:

- Expected:

So I wouldn t be required to reinsert it every time.

Is there a way to do this?

Notice that this has nothing to do with issues (at least shoudn't have), only with Test Sessions.

Hi Debbie,

I'm afraid that you have a bit of misunderstanding regarding creating a template in Bonfire. Template is used to make the process of creating issues using Bonfire to be easier and consistent.

There's no template for how you can create a session but there's a template feature to used with session. Once you have created a template with setting the project, issue type, etc. Then, you can assigned that template to be the default one according the documentation you've pointed - https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/BONFIRE/Working+with+Sessions#WorkingwithSessions-CreatingSessions

Hope this answer your doubts.

Fahd
