use your user directory's groups to filter the users you import into the HipChat Server database

This question is in reference to Atlassian Documentation: Configuring User Directories

On this page it says I can "use your user directory's groups to filter the users you import into the HipChat Server database" however it fails to say how!

I've checked the directory import page and it only seems to be able to search and import by baseDN - does anyone know where I can limit the imported users into my HipChat by group membership?  We're going to have a few dozen users so we don't need the 2500-ish AD users pulling in...

Hey, Gavin!

I'm afraid HipChat server doesn't current support filter by group membership yet, so it is necessary to use the BaseDN to filter which users you wish to be part of HipChat. You can also refer to this page in here: https://confluence.atlassian.com/hc/reduce-the-number-of-users-synchronised-from-ldap-to-hipchat-server-687218288.html
