problem with Hipchat 1.1.5 installation

After installing hipchat, the configuration UI is non-responsive.  In the ~/logs/database.log file, redis is in a continuous loop with a message it cannot write a .rdb file.  It appears the /mnt path is specified for RDB but it is not writable.

Does HipChat need access to an external URL?  Is it possible to configure a proxy for this access?

Hi Jed,

HipChat Server needs Internet access to pull updates, query marketplace.atlassian.com for addons and also to send mobile notifications.

A proxy can be configured for update access, per https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/HC/Upgrading+HipChat+Server .

Please email server-support@hipchat.com for assistance diagnosing your installation.
