iOS client "The network connection was lost"

We were helping a new employee get the iOS HipChat client set up and he kept getting the error "The network connection was lost" even though the rest of our team was able to connect and use it. I logged out to check that we had given him the right settings and now I can't log in either. We are connecting to an on-premises HipChat instance. My desktop client is fine, and others with iOS who are still logged in are fine.

Hi Ray,

Is port 80 open on your HipChat Server? I'm wondering if it may be related to https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/HCPUB-2345

I don't own the server so I can't speak to how it's set up, but hitting it on 80 redirects to 443.

In checking that for you I noticed we're not running an internal cert anymore. I flipped Require Cert Validation on and I was able to log in. Odd that was the cause, but you can mark this as fixed.

Thanks!
