hipchat new users unable to log in

I have 2 users whom i have invited to a new instance of HipChat.  They both have Atlassian accounts, and had previously been using a different instance of hipchat.  We disabled the old instance, unlinked the projects, created a new HipChat, linked it to our JIRA project, and sent out invites.

When the users try to log in through the invite email, it just keeps reloading the login screen, no errors, but they cannot log in.

It's possible some leftover state is interfering with these users logging in. A couple suggestions:

  1. Try accepting the invite in a different browser (you may possibly need to re-send the invite to these users)
  2. Clear cookies before attempting to accept the invite or login (clearing all cookies related to hipchat.com would probably be safest).

If you continue to have issues, you can submit an issue with our support team at https://support.atlassian.com/servicedesk/customer/portal/32/create/254 - they can look at the specific data for these users and help get them unblocked.
