I get this sometimes on the Mac client. It's always been down to what it says it is, the Mac has for some reason decided the camera and microphone on it is not there, so it's telling HipChat that it can't use what it doesn't think is there.
Is that the case for you? Rebooting may fix it? Check the OS to see if it can see the camera and microphone (try other software that uses them for example)
