can't see new hipchat member

A colleague created his HipChat account through the HipChat web app. But no one else in HipChat. when we see a message notification from him we click on it and it says member not found.

Hi Mitchell, that's really weird. I did some investigation but I can't think of what the underlying issue is. If you haven't already/no-one can suggest anything, I'd log a bug with HipChat themselves https://support.atlassian.com/servicedesk/customer/portal/32/create/254
