Why Hipchat desktop version for debian give error during login ?

After opening desktop version of hipchat and click on 'Get Started' button in login section gives error message as

"Unable to access hipchat.com. Please check that your network is connected and try again"

I did "telnet chat-main.hipchat.com 5222" and the o/p is

Connected to chat-main.hipchat.com.
Escape character is '^]'.
Connection closed by foreign host."

Really can't figure out the problem.

My system is "Deepin Linux 15.3 - 64bit" debian based.

Thank you.

Hi Milan.

It seems your desktop client may be affected by this known issue reported in the URL below:

As a workaround, may I suggest if you can apply one of the following methods:

  1. Use the web client (https://www.hipchat.com/chat)
  2. Use an admin profile to run the HipChat client.
  3. Apply workaround mentioned in "HipChat4 Debian client doesn't connect".

I would encourage you to visit the bug page linked above and click the Vote and Watch links near the top right to be kept informed of progress on the bug going forward. By doing this, it will ensure you're proactively informed of progress and updates going forward.
