The use case I'm looking for is as follows:
We have some bots in a hipchat room that will announce various alerts as well as some employees that need to submit manual messages. This is all fine, but the difference is that we want hundreds or thousands of people to see these messages but not be able to actually post a new message or response. We want it more as a notification room where we can call out alerts, events, and important information without the room digressing into a 1000 person chat room. It is hard to make sure people don't reply by only a subject/description and/or asking nicely thus, enforcing some sort of read only for everyone except a select number of individuals is what I'm looking for. I saw someone recommend an RSS feed add-in, but I have no problem getting the content in the room, I just need to be able to moderate who can and who can't actually "speak" in the room while allowing as many people as possible "view or read only" in that same room.

All good things come to an end - thanks to all our customers and partners who have been along the Hipchat and Stride journey with us. As of Feb 15th 2019, Hipchat Cloud and Stride have reached ...
