There was a way for users to choose the audio output for the previous chat function. Now, you are only presented with video and mic. There are a number of folks that have multiple outputs (device output, USB output and headset). Please open up the ability to choose the audio output for HipChat Video.

This will be available once we migrate to the newer client (meet jitsi) from the older client (enso). For now there's no way to change audio output device through the enso client.
I wish this option was present too, it's very inconvenient to try listing to chat audio over my speakers and use a headset microphone. Skype and other messaging apps manage this already.
N.B. Notification sounds should still be played over the speakers.
