This email address is claimed by a user in a different HipChat group.

I have a friend I'm trying to add to my HipChat group. He already belongs to another group so I'm getting the message "This email address is claimed by a user in a different HipChat group."  He's working on multiple teams and uses his personal email for all of them. Can't users belong to more than one HipChat group?

Hey Patrick. You can't have the same email address to a different HipChat group as mentioned in https://confluence.atlassian.com/hipchatkb/how-do-i-have-one-account-be-a-member-of-multiple-groups-755337839.html

Solution would be to have multiple emails to sign in to various multiple accounts.  Feel free to reach out to support at support.atlassian.com if the user is still having issue. smile
